Fairfield Leaders

At Fairfield, we are committed to nurturing independent, resilient, and happy students through a range of student leadership opportunities. This is part of our Confident Individual Programme, which equips pupils with the skills and experiences they need to thrive and opportunities that encourage personal growth, responsibility, and active participation in school life. Student leadership opportunities are plentiful at Fairfield. We have numerous pupil led committees.

Fairfield Forum

Fairfield Forum is our student voice, playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the school. This student council meets regularly with school leadership, providing an opportunity for pupils to share their views, opinions, and ideas on school-wide matters. Fairfield Forum ensures that every student’s voice is heard and that they have a say in decisions that impact their school experience.

Form Leadership roles

Each form has three prestigious positions of responsibility.

  • Form Captain
  • Vice-Captain
  • Sports Captain

These roles are vital in fostering teamwork and school spirit, particularly through their involvement in organising and leading inter-form competitions and challenges. Captains play a key role in encouraging participation, ensuring success in these events, and representing their peers. Both Fairfield Forum representatives and Form Captains are elected by their peers, reinforcing the importance of democracy, one of our core British values.

Pupil-Led Committees

Fairfield offers several additional pupil-led initiatives, providing pupils with further opportunities to take on leadership roles and make meaningful contributions:

  • Eco-Committee: Pupils drive sustainability efforts within the school, raising awareness of environmental issues and implementing green initiatives.
  • Pupil Newsletter: A team of pupils manage and produce a regular newsletter publication, honing their journalism and communication skills while keeping the school community informed.
  • EAL Ambassadors: These pupils support peers for whom English is an additional language, promoting inclusivity, diversity and celebrating Fairfield’s multiculturalism. They host assemblies and run events such as our Heritage Day.
  • Fairfest Committee: Pupils on this committee lead the organisation and planning of Fairfest, our community festival. This project provides them with real-world event management experience and strengthens community ties.
  • Our Reading Partners programme has resulted in over 100 pupils being supported in their reading by an older pupil in a nurturing role.

In addition, we have Prefects for Equality and Diversity and LGBTQ+ Ambassadors. Curriculum areas support the pupil leadership offer through initiatives such as Digital Leaders and Sports Ambassadors.
